Tehshik co-authored an Editorial with Sarah Reisman, Richmond Sarpong, and Matt Sigman that has been jointly published by JOC, OL, Organometallics, and ACS Central Science as a rebuttal to the recent Hudlicky Perspective article. We felt it was important, as members of Hudlicky’s scholarly community, to articulate an evidence-based case for why his essay’s views on diversity, mentoring, and international science were both unscholarly and complicit with institutional structures that have long supported the unnatural demographic homogeneity of chemistry. See also perspectives by Melanie Sanford, the editors of JOC/OL/Organometallics, all ACS Editors-in-Chief, and a group of distinguished young POC academics.
